| Innovator of the Douro, Dirk Niepoort, created the Drink Me label with the idea of an affordable, easy drinking red which doesn’t compromise the complexity, minerality and depth of classic Douro wines.
Drink me is a field blend which includes the grape varieties: Touriga Franca, Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Amarela, plus others. 2020 was a very up and down year in the Douro weather wise, with a very cool June and three heat waves in July (the hottest on record since 1931). This reduced yields resulted in an early harvest but despite all of this, it was a good vintage overall and the sun soaked fruit has made for another dangerously drinkable Drink Me release. |

A portion of the wine was matured in French oak barriques whereas the rest of the wine remained in stainless steel for about 6 months to retain freshness. A full bodied wine with uplifting redberry fruit, minty herb accents. With the trademark violet character, there is no doubt of the origin of this quaffable wine from the scenic, port producing valley. |
