Description
Col Solare is a grand project and partnership between two world-leaing producers: Masrchesi Antinori of Tuscany and Chateau Ste. Michelle of Washington. From the inaugural vintage in 1995 to the establishment of an estate winery in Red Mountain AVA in 2007 and to the present day this partnership continues to make some of Washington's finest wines, with Col Solare focused solely on the experssion of Cabernet Sauvignon in this incredible terroir.

At Col Solare, winemaker Darel Allwine (what a name!) pays great attention to every step of the grape growing and winemaking process to produce the best wine possible from each vintage. A blend of 94% Cabernet Sauvognon and 6% Cabernet Franc giving the wine a complex lift of graphite and cassis. Aged for 22 months in 100% new french oak barrels.

Tasting notes
This unctous and dreamy Cabernet Sauvignon offers a nose of black cherry, blackcurrants, cinnamon and rose petals with subtle notes of vanilla and milk chocolate. On the palette, tannins are rich and refined, with characteristic flavors of berries, dried fruit and cocoa and a finish that lingers forever. Italian for 'Shining Hill', Col Solare produce some of the very finest Cabernet Sauvignon on Red Mountain.
Food match
A huge wine deserves a hearty accompaniment, but in addition to roast beef and fillet steak, the delicate highlight notes of the Col Solare pair well with more complex dishes that bring out its subtle nuances.
