Soft and rounded Argentinian Cabernet Sauvignon from the high altitude Salta region.
Cabernet Sauvignon is a variety that often plays second fiddle to Malbec in Argentina, but this voluptuous wine from Salta in north west Argentina is not to be overlooked. The very sunny Calchaqui Valley - which gets 300+ days of sunshine a year - is where the vineyards are located.

70% of the wine is aged in oak barrels giving the body a richness and vanilla oak character whilst primary flavours of blackberries, Morello cherry and pepper and a nice roundness of feel are contributed by the remainder aged in stainless steel. Overall it's really juicy and fresh with ripe tannins and a lengthy finish.

Its warmth and body make it great with the likes of slow cooked stews and casseroles and also game.
